How can I have access and what does it cost?

The cost for the IB-BBS IVP service service consists of a base subscription and a volume-based cost. The base subscription is 1000 Belgian Francs for VIP members for 1 year. If you are not yet VIP on our BBS you will have to subscribe the VIP membership first. If you subscribe VIP and IVP at the same time you only need to pay 1500 Fr. A 500 Fr saving! The volume-based cost is 0.2 BEF / KiloByte (sent or received E-mail!). However, the base subcription fee of includes 250 KB E-mail per month (Attention: send and received bytes both count and are added together!). These 250 Kb/month ought to be enough for normal use. Also: these volume limits ONLY apply to your personal E-mail. Reading in the Internet NEWSgroups is always free of volume based charges. If you need to transfer more data by E-mail then your 250 Kb/month please contact the sysop so arrangements can be made. Besides, IVP users will also be granted 120 minutes logon-time per day!

A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT FTP MAIL SERVERS AND MAILING LISTS

Please note that IB-BBS, in order to limit the e-mail dataflow, does NOT allow the use of FTP-servers nor the subscription of individual IVP users to automatic mailing lists. Such uses of E-mail easely generate Megabytes of mail traffic, wich would make a low-cost setup as this get out of hand very easily. However, if you are in desparate need of a file that is available through FTP-mail, and the size is reasonable, an IVP member can write a message to SYSOP, asking him to get the file for him. On the other hand, if you know about an interesting mailing list that could be of interest for several IB-BBS users, you can also talk about it to the SYSOP. When there is enough interest for this particular mailing list we will then consider to subscribe the list as IB-BBS and make it available to our users as a public message area and import it within the newsgroups section.

To subscribe IVP as a VIP (1000 BEF), your actual VIP membership must have still ** more than 6 month ** of validity. (Use option <Y> in the <U>til menu to check this). If it is not than you have to resubscribe your VIP. (1.500 total).

Thus if you are VIP:

- Your VIP still lasts for 6 month or more: Pay 1.000 BEF. You will get VIP + IVP for a year counted from your upgrade. (Yes! you will gain between 0 and 6 month of VIP!)

- Your VIP has less than 6 month to go: Pay 1.500 and you will have the same.

You are not VIP yet?

- Send 1.500 BEF and you will have 1 full Year of VIP + IVP
